Football fans contributed to raise $2,000 for local charities Goodwill Inn and Marathon4Kids which supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan. On Saturday, October 25, Safety Net hosted a football fundraiser at West Bay Beach Resort’s View lounge to watch the University of Michigan vs. Michigan State football game.

Guests were treated to drinks and appetizers compliments of Safety Net. They were asked to a pledge a dollar (or more) toward each point their favorite football team scored, with the proceeds benefiting the charity of their choice. Representatives from Goodwill, M4K and Big Brothers Big Sisters had the opportunity to meet supporters and talk about their latest initiatives.

The Goodwill Inn located in Traverse City is the largest homeless shelter in Northern Michigan. The Inn provides the first line of defense for people who have lost their homes and are trying to build stable, productive lives.

Marathon4Kids was founded by Tony Anderson with the goal of running 50 marathons in 50 states, asking for a charitable donation per mile. The proceeds from M4K benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan, which provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-on-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.
