Information for Prospective Employees

What you can expect working here: We want our employees to enjoy what they do and enjoy coming to work each day. To that end, we try to create a pleasant (even fun) working environment where your ideas and creativity are welcomed. We also pride ourselves in being active in the community. Safety Net employees participate in volunteer activities such as the National Cherry Festival, charitable walks, and Adopt-a-Road.

Full-time employees receive a competitive salary, several paid holidays, and ample vacation time to enjoy beautiful Northwest Michigan. Eligible employees will receive medical benefits through Blue Cross Blue Shield as well as short-term disability, long-term disability insurance, and basic life insurance. A SIMPLE IRA retirement plan very similar to a 401(k) is available with matching contributions.

The two qualities we look for most in a candidate for employment are a positive attitude and enthusiasm. Customers notice when you are passionate about your work and they appreciate a great attitude. We especially appreciate people who are eager to learn more, develop their skills and grow with us. The ability to communicate effectively is a must. The best way to demonstrate your communication skills is to submit a professional resume and cover letter, and if asked for an interview, come prepared. A simple portfolio of your achievements, copies of certifications (if applicable), references and anything else you'd like to show off is welcome.
